Initial story:

A missing and endangered person report has been issued by the St. Louis County Police Department for an Indiana woman whose 9-year-old son and her belongings were found this morning found near the Stratford Inn, 800 South Highway Drive, Fenton.

The woman, Denise R. Cooke, 29, is described as being 4 feet, 11 inches, 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her last known address was the 500 block of N. Alabama St., Indianapolis, IN.

Officers from the St. Louis County Police Department Fenton Precinct responded to a call prior to 8 a.m. Monday concerning property found at a nearby business on Bolger Court. The property included Cooke's clothing and her purse.

Officers investigated, which led them to the Stratford Inn, where Cooke's 9-year-old son was located. Police said Cooke was last seen as early as 4 a.m. Monday. The boy has been turned over to his grandfather, who lives in the area, police said.

If anyone has seen Cooke, or has any information about her whereabouts, contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 314/889-2341.

She's either a whack job and just took off or she has met foul play. Even though the article states she an "Indiana woman", her family apparently is here. There's got to be a back story on this one. It's not a case of random abduction.
