City of Crestwood Amends Capital Improvement Fund, Capital Program Budgets

Both relate to the Spellman Avenue Reconstruction Project Phase I.

The Capital Improvement Fund and Capital Program Budgets both were amended at this week’s City of Crestwood Board of Aldermen meeting. Relating to the Spellman Avenue Reconstruction Project Phase I, the budget amendment is to move the remaining costs of the project that were budgeted in 2011 into the 2012 budget.

According to stltoday.com, Crestwood Public Services Director Jim Eckrich said that the plans for the grant project could be similar to grant funds Sanders Park used. Sanders Park got a $360,000 parks grant in 2009. The grant was used for playground equipment, a tennis court, a buffer to protect small children from nearby Gravois Creek and better access for walkers and emergency vehicles.

The grant funds are expected to pay 80 percent of the plan cost up to $4,000. The city would then be responsible for the remaining 20 percent.
