Crestwood Board of Aldermen Approves New Restaurant to Join Crestwood Court

After Dinner Mint will open in Crestwood Court late next month in hopes of attracting mall patrons, employees and walkers.

After Dinner Mint will soon be the newest addition to Crestwood Court, as the Crestwood Board of Alderman granted a conditional use permit to the restaurant in last night’s meeting. The restaurant will provide Crestwood residents an opportunity to enjoy sandwiches and desserts in a relaxing, casual dining setting. Most menu items are priced under
$10.

“We (After Dinner Mint) will give mall patrons, walkers and employees a place to grab a quick bite to eat without the hustle and bustle of a traditional restaurant environment,” said owners, Ross and Deanna Litz. “We hope to attract movie-goers and families and instructors attending dance rehearsals and recitals at the studios located within the mall.”

The restaurant’s owners have been granted preliminary permission to operate beyond Crestwood Court’s normal business hours from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. in an effort to attract early mall walkers and employees working night shifts. After Dinner Mint is scheduled to open late next month. A website and social media pages are currently under
construction to provide customers with more information.

The Crestwood Board of Aldermen also decided to sign a three-year agreement on behalf of the City of Crestwood to accept the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the sum of $23,400 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program to give St. Louis County residents a chance to receive funding for home improvement projects and other housing needs.

“Residents who have received grant money in the past were appreciative and thankful to the city of Crestwood and the Board for giving them the opportunity to improve their homes,” said several aldermen.

Other business on the meeting’s agenda included granting St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish permission to serve wine at its picnic on Sept. 16-17 and approving the purchase of 500 tons of deicing salt from the St. Louis County Municipal Salt Co-op Program. The city will purchase another 200 tons of salt in January.
