Committee on Missouri Ports to Tour Local Spots
State Rep. Paul Wieland and the members of the House Issue Development Committee on Missouri Ports will be in Jefferson County on July 30.
What would you ask those in charge of decision making regarding area ports if they were to visit Jefferson County? Think about it because this week Jefferson County Port will get a visit from the Missouri State Capitol.
State Rep. Paul Wieland and the members of the House Issue Development Committee on Missouri Ports will visit seven ports in the St. Louis region and Southeast Missouri July 30-31.
Wieland, who serves as chairman of the committee, said the goal of the tour is to take a closer look at the role Missouri’s ports play in moving $4.1 billion of cargo each year. The committee wants to find out things the state can do to help develop the port system to better meet the current and future transportation needs of the state.
