Dog Park Drama in Sunset Hills Draws Attention of FOX2's "You Paid for It"

Some residents say the proposed site for a dog park will boot playing children to the curb.

Our partners over at FOX2 have caught wind of the opposition to a planned dog park on the Sunset Hills-Crestwood border, and featured it as the topic of their latest "You Paid for It" segment.

Last month a handful of residents spoke against the park because they believe it will displace children and families who use the space behind Truman Middle School, which is currently a ball field.

"I'd rather have a developed park on that site than nothing," Mayor Bill Nolan told FOX2.

He also addresses the topic in the city's July newsletter.

"Along with creating a facility that’s part of our Parks Master Plan, it will serve to demonstrate intergovernmental cooperation and the advantages of not duplicating amenities in each city," he wrote in the Mayor's Memo.
