Filing Period Approaches for Crestwood Aldermanic Elections

The filing period begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Five offices on the City of Crestwood Board of Aldermen are up for reelection in 2012. On Tuesday, April 3, one alderman from each of the four wards will serve until April 2015 and one from Ward 3 will serve an unexpired term. Under the city's charter, the term for the office of alderman is three years, unless filling a vacancy. 

In order to file as a candidate, a qualified person must:

  • gather signatures of at least 20 registered voters of the city supporting his/her candidacy
  • pay a $5 filing fee

Ballot order is determined by the order in which candidate filings are received by the city clerk. The filing period begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, and ends at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17. Government center offices will close at noon Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, and will be closed all day on Dec. 26, Jan. 2 and Jan. 16.

Candidate packets are now available. The packets include general information about the city and the office, as well as declaration of candidacy and petition forms. Information regarding finance disclosure reports from the Missouri Ethics Commission also will be provided.

  • Ward 1 Alderman Darryl Wallach
  • Ward 2 Alderman Chris Pickel
  • Ward 2 Alderman Steve Knarr (currently filling an unexpired term)
  • Ward 3 Alderman Paul Duchild
  • Ward 4 Alderman Deborah Beezley
