Meeting Agenda: New Dispatching Service for Crestwood Fire

Crestwood's Board of Aldermen meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. The city's sign commission will discuss a controversial request from a Watson Road business owner when they meet Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.

Crestwood's Board of Aldermen will be honoring a retiring fire captain when they meet Tuesday, April 9 at 7 p.m.

Capt. Thomas A. Knapp has served the City of Crestwood for the past 38 years, serving as a firefighter, driver and paramedic, according to city documents.

  • An annual contract with Central County Emergency 911 Dispatch Center to provide the city's fire and emergency dispatching services. Mehlville, Affton, Fenton, and Lemay fire districts have already made the decision to switch over to the new dispatch center effective this July. Other fire captains in South County expect the switch to provide fire personnel with up-to-date technology, and allow fire districts across St. Louis County to communicate more effectively.
  • An Earth Day proclamation encouraging care of trees and woodlands, and the planting of new trees

The city's sign commission meets at 7:15 p.m. on March 10 to continue their discussion of a request from A to Z Auto Center owner Larry Sturm regarding window signage.

Sturm and another Watson Road auto business owner made comments at a recent Board of Aldermen meeting that the city isn't particularly business-friendly--particularly to auto businesses, they said.
