Mile 277 Sand Volleyball Court Decision Postponed

Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen delay their vote on the conditional use permit and plan at owner's request.

Keith Rhodes, co-owner of at the , sent a letter on Monday requesting the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen to postpone their decision in regards to the expansion of a sand volleyball court and concession building to the existing venue. Reasons for the request are unknown at this time.

The Planning and Zoning Commission in a meeting earlier in this month after hearing arguments by several Office Park tenants. Excessive drinking and noise, parking shortages, possible litter and diminished access to the office park were mentioned as concerns if an outdoor court is added to the current location.

Nevertheless, members voted in favor of events being hosted at Mile 277 on April 25 and May 2. Rhodes was invited to attend the next Board of Aldermen meeting on May 8 to answer additional questions concerning the list of events submitted for review.
