Jeanne Kirkton Wins Third Term as State Rep.

Democratic incumbent Jeanne Kirkton defeated Republican Elizabeth Deal Tuesday.

Incumbent Democrat Jeanne Kirkton keeps her seat as State Representative for the 91st District against Republican Elizabeth Deal Tuesday.

The day began early for the candidates, who both reside in Webster Groves, and it must have caught the attention of their neighbors. Facebook user Randy Curtis said despite arriving just two minutes after 6 a.m., he was almost the 200th person in line.

"I guess Tuxedo Park folks are early votes (might have something with Jeane Kirkton and Elizabeth Deal both vying to be for the Missouri House of Representative for District 91 living within blocks of each other and the polling place)," he said.

Kirkton received a 58.95 percent majority with 11,834 votes. See the final tally in the chart above, or view St. Louis County's election results page.

Kirkton has had a record of claiming close victories--she won by margins of fewer than 1,000 votes in 2008 and 2010.

She was not immediately available for comment Tuesday night.

"It was a great run! Thank you thank you thank you to my family and friends, supporters and volunteers, advisors and voters, and to God for blessing me with this opportunity," challenger Elizabeth Deal said.
