MoDOT Announces Weekend Construction Projects

This weekend in the City of St. Louis there are multiple major events including Taylor Swift concerts both Saturday and Sunday,
Cardinals games, the Moonlight Ramble and a Rams pre-season game.

Construction will work around the peak traffic times for all of
these events. The work includes the closing of two westbound lanes on the Poplar Street Bridge from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday.  

The eastbound I-70 ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge also will be closed Friday at 11 p.m. until noon Saturday.

On Saturday night, the northbound I-55 entrance ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed from 11 p.m. until noon Sunday. Also on Saturday night, the Moonlight Ramble event will have most of the ramps on I-64 downtown closed from 11 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday.

On Southbound Interstate 270 between I-44 and Gravois Road, work will occur this weekend to return the lanes back to its original striping. Crews will close lanes beginning 8 p.m. Friday to restripe the highway. Various lanes will be closed during the weekend and the transition should be complete by 10 p.m. Sunday.

Motorists should be aware of the following ongoing closures:

  ·    I-55, St. Louis City, Holly Hills across I-55 is closed for bridge
 replacement.
  ·    I-64, St. Louis City, eastbound 11th Street exit ramp closed weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
  ·    Grand Blvd, St. Louis City, closed from I-64 to Chouteau by St. Louis City until mid 2012.
