MoDOT Plans Closures, Weekend Work

Work on portions of the connection between I-70 and the new Mississippi River Bridge begins Monday.

MoDOT’s weekend work begins with the closure of eastbound I-64 between Jefferson and the Poplar Street Bridge at 8 p.m. for roadway and bridge work. Eastbound I-64 will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

Two left lanes of eastbound and westbound Poplar Street bridge also will be closed starting at 8 p.m. The eastbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, and the westbound lanes will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday.

The I-70 reversible lanes will be closed during off peak hours Thursday and Friday during the day and overnight. Starting at 9 a.m. Monday morning, the reversible lanes will be closed until mid November as part of the ongoing new Mississippi River bridge construction.

Lindbergh and I-170 will be closed this weekend for bridge repairs. Up to two lanes will be closed starting late Friday night. During the day Saturday and Sunday, only one lane in both directions will be closed. The lane closures are expected to end by 5 a.m. Monday.

Beginning Monday at 9 a.m., the I-70 express lanes will be closed until early December to demolish the Howard and 9th street bridge over I-70 and to construct portions of the connection between I-70 and the new Mississippi River Bridge.
