Sunset Hills: Four Incumbents Sworn In Post-Election

Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen keeps the same makeup for another year.

Four incumbents were returned to office at Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday with the swearing-in of Scott Haggerty, Jan Hoffmann, Patricia Fribis and Dee Baebler. Baebler was appointed in 2010 to complete the term in Ward 1 of Bill Nolan who was elected mayor over Mike Svoboda. Baebler won a two-year term April 5 over challenger Jim Rode with 218 votes.

A proclamation to recognize a National Day of Prayer in the City of Sunset Hills was proposed by Kate Holloway, National Day of Prayer volunteer coordinator. This year is the 60th, to be held on May 5 and commemorated with a prayer circle around the flag pole outside Sunset Hills City Hall at 3939 S. Lindbergh Blvd., noon-1 p.m. A second proclamation recognizes the week of May 15 as National Public Works Week in Sunset Hills.

In public hearings, the Board of Aldermen granted limited use permits to Family Pet Hospital, LLC, for a veterinary hospital at 10400 Watson Rd., and to United Access, for a light truck and automobile business at 10232 Rahning Rd. that retrofits automobiles for handicapped drivers.
