Sunset Hills Renames Chambers to Honor Former Employee

The Sunset Hills aldermanic chambers were renamed to honor Robert C. Jones, who died last November. Jones worked for the city since its incorporation in 1957.

A Sunset Hills employee who worked for the city since its incorporation was commemorated for his service last week.

On Friday, the city held a dedication ceremony to rename the aldermanic chambers in 's honor. Jones, who worked as the city attorney for 54 years, , notes a Sunset Hills news release.

Lettering rests above the chamber doors and a plaque with Jones's image now hangs in the lobby of .

Jones first served as an attorney during Sunset Hills's incorporation in 1957 before working as a city attorney the following 54 years, the release notes.

The plaque was paid for through personal donations from friends, business associates and former city officials, the release notes. Former mayor Jim Hobbs donated the lettering above the doors.

The Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen voted last March to name the chambers after Jones.
