5 Things You Need to Know for March 11 (i.e. Spring Break Begins)

Half day of school in Lindbergh district.

1) It's a half day of school for Lindbergh district students and the start of a week of Spring Break. School resumes March 21.

2) Story Time is 10 a.m. at Oak Bend branch library for children ages 6 months - 2 years old, and caregivers.

3) Lindbergh schools serve no lunches and release times are as follows:

  • Lindbergh High School: 11 a.m.
  • Sperreng Middle: 10:45 a.m.
  • Crestwood: 11:50 a.m. (English Language Learners dismissed at 11:20 a.m.)
  • Kennerly, Long and Sappington: 11:40 a.m.
  • Truman: 11:50 a.m.

4) It's the 150th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Confederate States of America and thereby sealing the prospect of Civil War, the 26th anniversary since Mikhail Gorbachev became leader of the (then) USSR and the 18th anniversary of Janet Reno confirmed by the U.S. Senate to become the first female U.S. Attorney General.

5) Shared birthday of Polish-American band leader Lawrence Welk, TV journalist Sam Donaldson and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
