Lindbergh High Student Wins Science Research Award

Senior Tiffany Lee will be honored in October for her work this summer on a research paper from the University of Missouri-St. Louis' STARS program.

 

senior Tiffany Lee earned accolades from the 2012 University of Missouri-St. Louis Students and Teachers as Research Scientists (STARS) program for her outstanding research paper in the area of life science, according to a release from the Lindbergh School District.

Lee’s paper, “Analysis of Cholesterol Effects on Surrounding Phospholipids in Cell Membranes using Molecular Dynamics Simulations,” received the LMI Aerospace Inc. Award for Excellence in Research.

Lee completed the project summer with her Washington University Mentor Dr. Daniel Ory. Work was judged on difficulty and complexity of research, appropriateness of methodology, findings, and overall quality. She will be honored this October.

Lee was to attend the six-week program at STARS.
