Lindbergh's Early Childhood Education Students Read for the Record

Students participated in Jumpstart's collective reading campaign on Oct. 4.

Lindbergh’s youngest students in the district’s Early Childhood Education program collectively read a story with their teachers Oct. 4 as part of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign. Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign, in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, helps create awareness of the importance of literacy and quality early childhood programs for all children.

Students and their teachers read “Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad,” by David Soman and Jacky Davis. The Monkey, Piglet and Gator classrooms gathered in the multipurpose room to watch the story together on a projector screen, while teachers in other classes such as the Dragonflies and Giraffes read individually in their rooms.

In 2011, 2.2 million people participated in Read for the Record.
