Retiring Principal is Surprised With Big Award

Dr. Ron Helms will be concluding his principal career knowing he was Educator of the Year for 2013.

The principal of Lindbergh High School is being recognized by his peers in a very big way this week. 

Dr. Ron Helms was named Educator of the Year during a surprise presentation at the high school on Friday morning, notes a news release from the school district. The award was presented by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals.

The award follows Lindbergh's inclusion as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School.

Helms has been principal for 12 years and is set to retire at the end of the school year. He will be formally honored at an awards ceremony on April 25, the release notes.
