South County Tech Student Recognized by Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber

South Technical High School student Nathan Comerio's concentration is welding.

Nathan Comerio, and below is the article on him.  I will send you the October student pic and info shortly.

The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce and this month’s sponsor, Sylvan Learning Center, represented by Jamie Rains, honored Nathan Comerio of South Technical High School as the September 2012 Student of the Month.  He received a Chamber Certificate of Recognition, along with an Office Max Gift Card.

Comerio started welding one year ago and since then has gone from beginner to capturing numerous awards both statewide and nationwide.  While he likes the technical aspect of welding, he has become passionate about the artistic possibilities he has discovered and realizes that blending the two would allow him to express his thoughts and ideas in a way he has never done.

Comerio took first place at the SkillsUSA State Competition in March and in June won second place at the SkillsUSA National Competition.  He is extremely proud of his award winning replica production of a stainless steel baby grand piano.  Comerio plans to continue his welding education at Tulsa Welding School and then attend either an art school or take business classes so that one day he can open his own custom metal shop.
