awarded college scholarships at Tuesday's monthly luncheon to three outstanding high school graduates: Leah Efken, Megan Rasche and Kelly Weiss.
Leah Efken graduated ninth in her class of 474 students with a GPA of 4.72 out of 5.00. During high school, she participated in the National Honor Society, golf team, pit orchestra, Missouri Youth in Government, Strolling Strings, swim team and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She will attend Xavier University in Cincinnati and major in philosophy, politics and the public.
Megan Rasche earned a GPA of 4.24 out of 5.00 when she graduated from Westminster Christian Academy. She participated in the National Honor Society, varsity dance team, yearbook, varsity soccer team and peer counseling program. She will study biology as a pre-med student at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Kelly Weiss was 's salutatorian this year with a GPA of 4.83 out of 5.00. She was a National Merit Society Merit Finalist. She was a member of the spanish club, track and field team, Youth in Government program and Link Crew. She will attend the University of Oklahoma in Norman to major in engineering and minor in Chinese, and she plans to go to law school.
