Lindbergh Teachers Due a Pay Hike Over Next Two Years

Thanks to Prop L funds, it's a 2.8 percent raise.

Lindbergh School District's Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to give a 2.8 percent salary increase to teachers, averaged over the next two years.

Per a request by the teachers' union LNEA, teachers will receive a bigger pay increase the first year, and the remainder the following year.

Board President Dr. Vic Lenz said Tuesday negotiations between the district and teachers’ union went “beautifully,” but he worried the district’s salary scale put it at a disadvantage in attracting the best teachers.

Details of salaries levels will be added as it becomes available.

The teachers approved the contract by a four-to-one margin, 118 yes to 29 no. Apparently, many did not cast ballots.

LNEA President Scott Fleming described the agreement simply as "an improvement."

District officials said it would cover cost of living increases over the next two years.

The teachers’ contract would be considered for final approval during the next board meeting on June 14.
