The Flyers came out strong against Mehlville in two 25-7, 25-23 victories over the Panthers at home.
After taking an early 16-6 lead in the first game, the Flyers ran with the score. The game ended on a Mehlville missed serve.
"We just play really good defense," said Lindbergh coach Johnna Wieter. "We're a little team, so that's what we have to do."

Mehlville started with a 3-0 lead and kept it close the entire game. With a four-point lead, Lindbergh's Allison Krus ran across the court for an amazing save that swung the momentum for the Flyers. A kill from the outside ended the second game 25-23.
"We tried different things and tried some girls that don't normally get to hit," Wieter said. "When you can do those things and still come out with a win, that's good."
Lindbergh came off a rough week with two-game losses to Cor Jesu and Lafayette. Their competition does not ease as they take on Nerinx and Oakville next week.
Still, Wieter feels comfortable with her team three games out from the postseason.
"I think we can get into the district finals and win," Wieter said. "We will just have to work hard."
