Lindbergh Students Prepare for Rose Parade

Two band members will travel to California in January.

Lindbergh High School seniors Andrew Bushway and Rachel Pavelka have earned the amazing opportunity to return to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1, 2013.

Both students have been selected by Music for All to be members of the Bands of America Honor Band. They were selected from among hundreds of applicants across the nation for membership in this prestigious national honor band. They originally marched together in the parade in 2011, when the Lindbergh Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band traveled to California for its second appearance as a collective group.

Percussionist Andrew recently participated in a workshop to prepare for the march, which ended with a performance at the Bands of America Grand National Championships. On Dec. 27, both Andrew and Rachel, who is a member of the color guard, will join a 325 piece national ensemble in Southern California to perform with winds, percussion, flag and dance sections.
