Sunset Hills Considering Bowhunting for Deer Population Control

Hunters would have to be in an elevated stand, in an area larger than an acre, have insurance, and have permission from the landowner.

Sunset Hills City Council is considering a measure to help control the area's deer population.

It could become the latest St. Louis County community to have bowhunting allowed for deer. Earlier this month, a citizens committee recommended bowhunting as the best option for reducing the deer population to a more acceptable level, according to KMOX.

Hunters would have to be in an elevated stand, in an area larger than an acre, have insurance, and have permission from the landowner, should council approve the current proposed measure.
