Sweet Tomatoes Gathers Donations for Joplin
Donors may drop-off personal hygiene items at Sweet Tomatoes to send to American Red Cross in Joplin.
In Crestwood on Tuesday (June 7) Sweet Tomatoes, a buffet-style restaurant on Watson Road, is hosting an all-day fundraiser for Joplin, through the American Red Cross. Ten percent of what customers spend Tuesday will be donated.
Over the past three years, Sweet Tomatoes has raised $40,000 for the Red Cross, as well as provided food for emergency situations.
The eatery will also accept donations of unopened hygiene items for Joplin tornado victims over a two-week period, June 7 - 21.

"The American Red Cross is in need of personal hygiene items to provide to tornado victims. Preferred personal hygiene items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, body soap, wipes, shavers and shaving cream," according to a Sweet Tomatoes spokeswoman on Monday.
Items will go to the American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Regional Chapter located in Joplin.

For those who haven't tried it, Sweet Tomatoes has an enormous salad bar full of vegetables, tossed salads and all kinds of mixed salads. All-you-can-eat.
