A dance studio that once occupied Art Space at Crestwood Court has found a new, permanent space in the community. The Crestwood Board of Aldermen approved The Studio 42’s request to operate out of 1157 Reco Ave. last Tuesday. Owners Lawrence and Tracey Harmon offer weekly dance classes and social dance nights. They opened the studio in Crestwood Court's Art Space three years ago, according to city documents. Dance styles vary from salsa, west coast swing, line dancing, and even zumba. A Friday night dance draws between 80 and 130 dancers, according to planning and zoning commission minutes. The space can also be used for special events, according to the studio’s website. Crestwood Court’s Art Space tenants will have something to celebrate this weekend as they host their annual Murder Mystery Theater. Food Service Consultants, Inc., who will service the beverages at the event, was granted a full short-term liquor license for Feb. 17-18 after the required background check. The Affton CenterStage Theatre Company is hosting the dinner theater both this weekend and Feb. 24-25. There will be five performances with a matinee on Feb. 25. China Kina restaurant is now able to serve liquor on a full-time basis at 167 Watson Plaza. China Kina also was unanimously granted a Sunday sales license by Crestwood’s Board of Aldermen.
