Lindbergh High School Principal Dr. Ron Helms thanked Board of Educationmembers for their support during the Dec. 11 meeting, and presented them with the school’s National Blue Ribbon awards from the United States Department of Education. Dr. Helms attended the 2012 National Blue Ribbon Schools awards luncheon in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 13, where he received a Blue Ribbon plaque and flag that will be displayed in the high school. “The students and staff of Lindbergh High School would like to thank each of the Board Members for their encouragement and support over the years. The school was named a National Blue Ribbon School, a National School of Character and a Missouri Gold Star School for the 2011-2012 school year.
In the horse racing world, the last Triple Crown winner was "Affirmed" in 1978. However, the Lindbergh School District has its very own Triple Crown winner in Crestwood Elementary. During the 2011-2012 school year, Crestwood has been named a National Blue Ribbon School, a National School of Character and a Missouri Gold Star School. “Earning Blue Ribbon is the highest honor our educators can achieve—it is like winning the Nobel Prize of education,” said Dr. Jim Simpson, Lindbergh superintendent, in a statement. “We are very proud of the students and staff at Crestwood whose concerted efforts have resulted in some of the best achievement scores in the state.” The school will celebrate at an assembly May 22, and students and staff will wear …

Scott Taylor spoke about teaching character education.
The national radio show "Education Talk Radio" hosted Crestwood Elementary School Prinicipal Scott Taylor last week. Host Larry Jacobs interviewed Taylor and Lara Maupin of the National Center for Character Education.
