The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce was on hand to help The Village Green celebrate.
The Village Green, a resale shop on Watson Road, marked its first year in business on April 6 with a ribbon cutting by the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce. The Village Green is a non-profit donation and consignment resale store offering fine upscale homefurnishings, elegant décor, antiques, estate jewelry and collectibles, according to a release from the Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds support the mission of its parent organization, The Village Academy, which helps support St. Louis area families to achieve goals and receive high quality child care and early childhood education through scholarships to accredited early childhood education centers in our community, the Chamber said.

A familiar face will be taking over the director’s chair when Mary Ann McWilliams steps down from her seat at the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce at the end of this year. Eraser Top Design owner Steve Boggeman was announced as McWilliams’ replacement during the Chamber’s December luncheon. While McWilliams will be considered ‘retired’ in 2013, she said she would still be on hand to help her successor transition into the role. Boggeman started his own graphic design business in 2006, and has been an active member of the Chamber since 2007. His office is located in the Watson Industrial Park. The Crestwood - Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce awarded college scholarships at Tuesday's monthly luncheon to three outstanding high school graduates: Leah Efken, Megan Rasche and Kelly Weiss. Leah Efken graduated ninth in her Lindbergh High School class of 474 students with a GPA of 4.72 out of 5.00. During high school, she participated in the National Honor Society, golf team, pit orchestra, Missouri Youth in Government, Strolling Strings, swim team and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She will attend Xavier University in Cincinnati and major in philosophy, politics and the public. Megan Rasche earned a GPA of 4.24 out of 5.00 when she graduated from Westminster Christian Academy. The mid-day soiree reminded members of the power of small business and planning for retirement.
Tuesday's Sunset Hills-Crestwood Chamber of Commerce networking lunch at Bethesda Dilworth had a common theme—planning. Many small business owners and representatives exchanged business cards and talked about planning in this tough economy. "Since losing my job in 2004, I'm now in the business of changing lives," said Keith Kassel, owner of Axxiom Franchise Advisors. After an hour of networking, the luncheon began with an introduction of special guests, along with welcoming new members.
