Support The Backstoppers, Purchase A Holiday Ornament

Get involved in a local fundraiser to benefit local families of fallen heroes. Purchase ornaments at the Crestwood Police Department

If you are looking to help a good cause you can help area law enforcement families make it through the holiday season.  Ornaments for Officers, a local fundraiser is selling new and gently used ornaments, and the proceeds go soley to The Backstoppers . The goal is to raise $60,000, according to the charity's local website. Ornaments donated to Ornaments for Officers will be displayed at a number of participating retailers, more than 300, until Christmas and will be sold for $9 each. The Backstoppers will use the proceeds to help support the families of fallen and injured local heroes. ArtSpace Artist and Ornaments Head to White House

State winner decorates tree and wins invitation to tree-lighting ceremony.

Michelle Ochonicky, an area artist who exhibits in Crestwood's ArtSpace, created the Missouri state ornament that will hang on a White House Christmas tree this year. At the invitation of the president, she is expected to attend the lighting ceremony of the National Christmas tree on Thursday. Crestwood residents recently got to meet Ochonicky and see her work at the three-day "ARTstravaganza" festival at Crestwood Court. One of Ochonicky's ornaments will adorn the White House Visitor Center tree and 25 more will decorate the Missouri state tree on the Ellipse, an egg-shaped park between the Washington Monument and White House. In her design, which looks like a snow globe, she incorporated the image of Missouri's state bird, a bluebird. …
