The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications through Feb. 28.
The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for one or more $1,000 scholarships to be awarded late this spring. A qualified applicant must be a graduating senior who plans to pursue an education beyond high school and who resides in either the city of Crestwood or the city of Sunset Hills. This scholarship will be based solely on merit. There will be a special award presentation to the selected applicant(s) at a Chamber Luncheon in the summer of 2013. An application can be obtained by going to www.ourchamber.com/Scholarships.html or by calling the Chamber office at 314-843-8545. Applications must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 28. MaryAnn McWilliams retired last month after 12 years of service to the Chamber.
MaryAnn McWilliams, who recently retired from her full-time post as Director of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce, was recognized by the Crestwood Board of Aldermen Tuesday night. McWilliams served as the director for 12 years. She remains at the Chamber office on a part-time basis as new director Steve Boggeman transitions into the role. "During her many years of service, MaryAnn has set a standard of excellence by her devotion and committment to serving comunities and enhancing the economic vitality of area business," the city's declaration reads. Missouri Chapter of the Children’s Tumor Fund received a check for $2,000 at the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce's December luncheon.
The Route 66 Classic Car Cruise committee presented the Missouri Chapter of the Children’s Tumor Fund with a check for $2,000 at the December meeting of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce. Children’s Tumor Foundation was selected as recipient of the event’s 2012 charity grant. Each year, the Car Cruise committee donates excess revenues to a local charity that is providing a needed benefit to the community. Children’s Tumor Foundation is a nonprofit medical foundation that is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families who are affected by the neurofibromatoses. The organization’s mission is to support research, provide information on the condition, create better access to quality healthcare …

The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce and this month's sponsor, Saale Chiropractic PC, represented by Dr. Mary Saale, honored Stephanie Lake of Lindbergh High School as the November 2012 Student of the Month. Lake, who is a senior at Lindbergh, has earned a GPA of 3.923 and is ranked 10th in her class. She continually challenges herself by taking honors courses, including three in her senior year. Lake has been an accomplished member of the varsity poms all four years at LHS. Along with her dedication to excellence in her education, Lake makes time to teach dance class to younger children three nights a week, teaches children each week at her church, and babysits for two families. Crestwood is officially seeking new legal counsel, and the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber is hiring a new director.
As the interview process for a new Crestwood city administrator gets rolling, the city's aldermen have officially put out a request for new legal services, too. Robert J. Golterman, who's served the city in various capacities for more than 20 years, announced in September he planned to leave his post at the end of the calendar year, or once a replacement has been chosen. Crestwood aldermen voted Tuesday night to put out their formal request for qualified applicants. The job posting went live on the Crestwood city website Wednesday afternoon. He received a Chamber Certificate of Recognition, along with an Office Max Gift Card. Comerio started welding one year ago and since then has gone from beginner to capturing numerous awards both statewide and nationwide. Anjuli Farha attends South Tech and Affton high schools, studying court reporting and broadcast captioning.
Senior Anjuli (Juli) Farha was named the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce's Student of the Month for October. She attends Affton High School and South County Technical High School, where her concentration is broadcast captioning/court reporting. Farha was recently named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, and has a 4.375 GPA. She has acheived the bronze level in the station competition for Technical Math. Farha has received nods from South County Technical School for outstanding academic achievement, and Student of the Week. Farha took summer classes at St. Louis Community College, and is eligible for an internship this year. In her spare time, she volunteers at her church, and with the World Bird Sanctuary. According …
