While following in her dad's footsteps, Erin Reuter recently joined the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber.
It isn’t very often that a student enters law school knowing exactly what specialty to study. Even more rare is hearing that a lawyer gives clients relief and comfort. However, in growing up watching her dad Dan practice elder law, Erin Reuter can say that both of these rarities have held true. With a focus on estate planning and elder law, Dan Reuter has been a solo practitioner since 1987. According to the Reuter Law Firm website, Dan’s practice has included many areas of the law. Southpointe Apartments' property manager hopes to make further community ties.
Residents of Southpointe Apartments in South County can feel like they are even more of a part of a community, thanks to property manager Cindy Sykes. In 2003 Sykes' husband went back to teaching and she knew that she needed to get a full-time job. She had a friend who was in the business, but she told her husband that it would be a temporary thing. Now, almost 10 years later, Sykes still is managing Southpointe and loves her job. She recently joined the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce in hopes to make other contacts in the community. Rachel Collins, a senior at Lindbergh High School, is this month's standout.
The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce named its May Student of the Month at this week's luncheon at the Holiday Inn Southwest-Viking. Rachel Collins, a senior at Lindbergh High School, wants her life to leave a positive mark on others. Graduating at Chaifetz Arena May 29, Collins will leave her mark with a 4.24 GPA. She has taken some of the most challenging classes available at LHS throughout her 4 years. Colllins is part of the Pilot, the LHS newspaper, and finds time for additional extracurricular activites including the Drama Club and Crew, Spanish Club, orchestra, Youth in Government, National English Honors Society, tennis, National Honor Society, Reaching Adolescent Drivers and yearbook photograph director. The national workout chain is officially welcomed to Crestwood.
The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed Anytime Fitness to its Watson location Thursday. The ribbon cutting was celebrated by members of the Chamber and Anytime Fitness owners. Back in October, the Board of Aldermen heard a lengthly one hour and 20 minute discussion regarding the 24-hour business at 343 Watson Plaza. Discussion arose over the saftey of an unstaffed fitness facility during overnight hours. The representatives of Anytime Fitness argued that this patented formula for the facility has worked for hundreds of franchises across the nation and eventually retained the rights to open their business.

Mary Wetteroff and Martha Henderson will accept their awards at today’s Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.
Mary Wetteroff has never been one to back down from a challenge. The Kiwanis Club’s Bernard J. “Jimmy” Fiddler Citizen Service Award winner has done everything from raising bees to jumping out of an airplane two years ago. Wetteroff, who lives in Concord Village, is the mother of five boys, two of which she lost at young ages. Her husband of 47 years passed away in 2005. Wetteroff said that jumping out of a plane was on her bucket list. “It was one of the highlights of my life. Pat Dillon of TitleMax marks caring for others a priority.
Anyone who’s been a member of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce for fewer than two years is eligible for the New Member of the Year award. And, Pat Dillon of TitleMax hasn’t wasted any time. A member of the Chamber since the spring of 2010, Dillon was just named New Member of the Year; she will accept her award at the awards banquet Tuesday. “I feel overwhelmed, surprised, honored and humbled,” Dillon said. “I’m absolutely grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to serve in the community, serve with them, and I hope to do more.” Dillon started her sales and marketing career at the age of 11 at a small gift shop at the Lake of the Ozarks. The new location on Watson has served as a site revitalization.
After being at its new location only 6 months, Regions Bank at the corner of Watson and Lindbergh has made strides in the community. The bank just won the Community Improvement Award by the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce. They will receive the award at the March 20 awards banquet at Orlando Gardens Banquet Center. The Sunset Hills Regions Bank history dates back to the early 1980s when the bank was originally owned by Landmark Bank and Trust. Then it was located at 10722 Sunset Hills Plaza. According to the Chamber, the bank went through a few mergers throughout the years. Eraser Top Design’s Steve Boggeman jumps into life with both feet.
After working for other people for years, Steve Boggeman opened his own business, Eraser Top Design, in June 2006. Located in Crestwood’s Watson Industrial Park, the firm provides design, layout and illustration services to small businesses. Boggeman also has provided countless free design hours to numerous Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce products since joining the Chamber in May 2007. “I worked for a small printing company out of college and then another 500 person company and they were bought by a larger company. Sunset Hills Alderman Dee Baebler is humbled by the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce recognition.
Since the tornado disaster hit Ward 1 of Sunset Hills especially hard, Alderman Dee Baebler was placed in a unique position to help. As she has volunteered so many hours in the past for countless charities, Baebler immediately stepped in without thinking twice. In honor of her service to her community, the Board of Directors of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce has named Baebler Citizen of the Year. Baebler has been a member of the Chamber for about a year and a half.
