Flu season is coming early in parts of the United States: This time last year, flu cases were lower in the St. Louis area than they are now, according to data on Google's Flu Trends. The Lindbergh School District teams up with Visiting Nurses Assocation to host a flu shot clinic at the high school on Oct. 13.
The Visiting Nurse Association will host a family flu shot clinic for St. Louis County residents from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Lindbergh High School auditorium lobby, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Flu shots will be administered by specially trained RNs and are available for anyone age 6 months and older. No appointment is necessary, and the VNA accepts many forms of insurance. It's nearly flu season. Local healthcare providers are encouraging people to get a flu shot soon so they are protected from the flu earlier. It can take two weeks for flu antibodies to develop after you receive a flu shot. The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) offers flu shot clinics in September and October at various locations throughout the St. Louis region, including four Krispy Kreme drive-thrus, as well as places of employment by appointment.
