Red Cross Urges Flu Shots, Provides Tips for Those Infected

Missouri has not seen the widespread occurrences of the flu this winter, but 41 states, including all of Missouri's neighbors, have, according to the American Red Cross.

The following is a message issued Thursday from the American Red Cross about the flu. While much of the country is experiencing a crippling invasion of the flu, Missouri has been successful in defending against it – so far.  The American Red Cross urges people who have not yet gotten a flu vaccine to get vaccinated now. The Red Cross also has steps people can take to prevent the spread of the flu virus during what the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says is the worst influenza outbreak in several years in the United States. Widespread flu activity is reported in 41 states and although Missouri is not on the list, all of our neighboring states are. I really appreciate all the feedback.. What should i do now? I've started to develop a 2nd bump on my left foot. Its on the left side of the foot just about 2 inches behind the "big" or "first" toe(side of the foot). I work for a company that doesn't offer me insurance. Where do i go from here? The '"lump" or "bump" on my right leg just to the lower left of the knee does not seem to be getting …   more ›

Esse Health Watson Clinic Offers Flu Vaccinations, Extends Hours

The flu can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, headache and fatigue.

Several Esse Health offices are offering patients multiple flu clinics this fall. The clinics will provide both adult and child patients with the opportunity to receive the 2011-2012 flu vaccination. Offices that are currently offering the vaccine include Creve Coeur Pediatrics, Watson Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Southroads Internal Medicine, South County Internal Medicine, Florissant Pediatrics, Richmond Heights Internal Medicine and O’Fallon Pediatrics. In addition, the Esse Health Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine location on Watson Road has extended office hours for busy children and parents. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9 a.m. …
