Sunset Hills Church to Convert Old Mehlville Firehouse Into Rectory

The city’s planning and zoning commission recommended Gateway House of Prayer’s request to convert the space into a living quarters for clergy and temporary staff at House No. 3.

The Mehlville Fire Protection District’s old House No. 3’s bunkers are a good size for rectory bedrooms, according to the pastor of Gateway House of Prayer. The MFPD okayed a $200,000 sale of the firehouse to the church last month. Sunset Hills planning and zoning commission members recently recommended a request by the church to use their new property as a primary living quarters. Pastor Jeff Riddering said in order to “accommodate continual prayer” at the church, 4646 Lindbergh Blvd., the rectory will house staff members and those serving at internship status at 11625 Sappington Barracks Rd.
