Home Depot is taking applications now and reportedly plans to hire 975 seasonal workers in the St. Louis area--including Sunset Hills, Mehlville and Brentwood.
The Home Depot announced Wednesday that it will fill more than 80,000 seasonal positions for spring which the company stated is its busiest selling season--and several of them are in St. Louis County. "This year, The Home Depot is hiring ten thousand more spring associates than it did last year to support anticipated sales growth in the spring," the company stated in a news release on its website. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 975 seasonal workers will be hired in the St. Louis area. The Home Depot has numerous store locations in the St. Louis area, including Town and Country, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Sunset Hills, Mehlville, Brentwood, Florissant and St. Charles. Home Depot on Lindbergh to use part of their lot for seasonal display.
Even though Punxsutawney Phil just predicted six more weeks of winter, Home Depot representatives are looking forward to the spring season. At Wednesday’s Sunset Hills Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, Manager Taylor Reich asked for the space on the Home Depot lot at 10890 Sunset Plaza for seasonal display. Reich asked for the same area, 44 parking spaces 20 feet from the west side of the building, that they have used for the last two years. “We have had some great results and sales growth out of the space,” Reich said. “The only change is that we won’t be using the fire lane in front of the garden center.” City Engineer Anne Lamitola suggested that a multi-year permit should be considered so Reich wouldn’t have to return each year…
