Two drivers in the crash heading southbound on Interstate 270 north of Creve Coeur were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with minor injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released information related to a multi-car crash that tied up southbound traffic on Interstate 270 just north of Creve Coeur Tuesday. What was initially reported as an 8-car crash was apparently a 4-car crash in the eyes of the Highway Patrol. According to authorities, at 7:53 a.m., Michael Allen, 15, of Fenton, was driving southbound in a Toyota Camry and struck the rear of a KIA Optimdriven by Tinika Chaney-Daniels, 38, of St. Louis. Stacey Scathered, 45, of Crestwood, struck Allen's car from behind in a Chevy Suburban. Her vehicle was struck by a Ford Edge driven by John King, 42, of St. Louis. Scathered and King were both taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with what were termed "minor" injuries.

Friday's rock blast and I-270 closures between I-44 and Manchester Road are canceled due to rain and the Labor Day holiday.
The Missouri Department of Transportation stated in a news release that it canceled its daily Interstate 270 lane closures Friday due to the rain and holiday. MoDOT has been performing rock blasts and briefly closing I-270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44 as part of the road widening construction project. The closures take place weekdays at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., for approximately 15 minutes each time. The next rock blast will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to MoDOT. The closures are then set to continue weekdays throughout the summer. All of this construction is weather permitting. As fireworks displays are being cancelled all over the area due to dry conditions, it turns out MoDOT is also suspending its own daily blasts on Interstate 270 on July 4 due to the holiday, which will keep all lanes of the highway open.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will not blast rock and close all lanes on Interstate 270 Tuesday afternoon or all day Wednesday. Blasting and the approximately 15-minute lane closures are expected to resume Thursday. They take place in both directions of I-270 from Interstate 44 to Manchester Road. MoDOT crews will be narrowing lanes on I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44. They'll also be doing maintenance work throughout the area in the next week.
Lanes narrowing on I-270 Missouri Department of Transportation crews have begun narrowing lanes on northbound and southbound Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44. Over the next week, motorists will see various night lane closures in this area for asphalt paving operations. The work is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays and is part of a two-year widening project on I-270. Painting, patching and striping Crews will be painting bridges, patching potholes and striping roads throughout the region next week. Drivers heading home should expect narrow lanes and traffic delays on Interstate-270 between Manchester Road and Interstate-44 beginning Wednesday night. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and its contractor Millstone Bangert will close the exit ramp from eastbound Interstate 44 to southbound Interstate 270 this weekend, weather permitting. The exit ramp will be closed due to the close distance to the work zone on southbound I-270 at I-44 and Rott Road.
