Kestler's Last Week in Office

While he retired from his fire department post in January, Karl Kestler stayed on as acting city administrator.

Acting city administrator Karl Kestler sat in his final Crestwood Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday.  Kestler retired from his post as Crestwood Fire Department Chief earlier this year, but stayed on until incoming city administrator Make Sime prepared to take over the role starting next week. Kestler served as city administrator following Petree Eastman's departure from the city last March.  Related articles:

Crestwood Staff Say Goodbye to Fire Chief

Crestwood Fire Chief Karl Kestler retired Jan. 1.

Crestwood Mayor Jeff Schlink and Assistant Fire Chief Mark Menning recently spoke with Call newspapers on Fire Chief Karl Kestler's departure from the city.  The 37-year fire department veteran retired Jan. 1, Call reports. Read the full story. Kestler also served as acting city administrator as the city searches for a full-time replacement. Menning was named Kestler's successor in November.

Crestwood Chooses Fire Chief Replacement

Mark Menning, the city's current Assistant Fire Chief, will be promoted in January, according to a report from Call newspapers.
