Man Steals Dad's Truck; Father Ends Up With Broken Leg

The father tracked his son and his friend to a Crestwood parking lot and was injured when the friend drove off in the truck while he held onto door handle.

A man stole his father’s truck, and his friend drove off in the truck while the father was hanging onto the door handle, breaking the man’s leg, according to a Crestwood Police report. Crestwood Police said that Nicholas Doane, 19, of the first block of Wampler Drive near Arnold in Jefferson County, took the truck from his father’s Jefferson County home. Using an app on his cell phone, the father tracked them to the parking lot at Kohl’s department store in Crestwood, police said. He confronted Doane and his friend, Anthony Passiglia, 28, of Arnold, in the parking lot and demanded they return his truck. Seasonal Jobs Abound as Holiday Season Approaches

Many St. Louis-area big box retail stores are hiring seasonal workers to help handle the holiday shopping season.

Thousands of jobs are on the way to St. Louis as big-box retail stores such as Walmart and Target are set to hire seasonal employees in anticipation of the holiday shopping rush.   According to a St. Louis Business Journal report, Walmart plans on hiring more than 50,000 seasonal employees, although it's not sure how many of those jobs will be for the store's 20 St. Louis-area locations. Walmart's not the only store hiring. Many of the Christmas season's go-to stores are also looking for seasonal help. The Business Journal reports that Target is set to hire between 80,000 to 90,000 workers across the country, while Kohl's plans to hire 52,000 workers. And Macy's, which has three locations in the St. Louis-area, plans to add 1,700 jobs to …

The Crestwood was compiled from incident reports between May 11-31. Friday, May 11 Property damage was reported on Lou Court. A residential window was broken. Crestwood Detectives Report: All Kohl's Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

Police are confident they have all three people responsible for the May 12 Kohl's parking lot robbery.

Crestwood Police Detectives are confident all three suspects responsible for the May 12 armed robbery in Kohl's parking lot are in custody. The investigation is in conjunction with Shrewsbury and St. Louis County Detectives, who have had similiar incidents—one at the Mackenzie Pointe Dierbergs and one at the Mehlville Kmart. Warrants are pending on the first suspect who was arrested May 21. Warrants were issued on a second suspect Thursday, May 24, for armed robbery and armed criminal action. He was previously identified as 17-year-old Markele Prince. The third suspect is in custody.  Crestwood Detectives will apply for warrants for armed robbery and armed criminal action with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Identities …

Man Charged in Kmart, Kohl's Parking Lot Robberies

Police still seek others involved in the May 11 and May 12 crimes in Mehlville, Crestwood and Shrewsbury.

One man has been charged with robberies in the Mehlville Kmart and Crestwood Kohl’s parking lots May 11 and May 12. Another man has been arrested in connection with the robberies. Markele D. Prince, 17, of the 4500 block of Rosewood Avenue in Jennings, has was charged Thursday with two counts each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. St. Louis County Police said a woman was retrieving something from her car in the Mehlville Kmart parking lot, 3901 Lemay Ferry Road, on May 11 when two men displayed a semi-automatic handgun and stole her purse.  According to court documents, another man held the weapon during the robbery in Mehlville, not Prince. Breaking News: Crestwood Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

The arrest is connected with the Kohl's robbery that occurred May 12.

Crestwood Police have arrested a man they believe is connected to the armed robbery that occurred on the Kohl's parking lot on May 12. The 17-year-old man was arrested without incident by Crestwood detectives in conjunction with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police in the 3800 block of Wyoming in St. Louis City. The suspect will not be identified until formal charges are filed with the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office.  The robbery at Kohl's occured at 10:43 a.m. when a 32-year-old female customer was approached on the parking lot by two men in a green Chevrolet Impala. Park Board Welcomes Alderman Tennessen, Sets Date for Sappington House Barn Discussion

Crestwood Aquatic Center to open May 26, will host a free showing of Jaws May 25.

The Crestwood Park Board had a full agenda last night, open with newly elected Alderman Dan Tennessen giving the aldermanic report. “Parks is one of my favorite subjects when it comes to Crestwood,” Tennessen said. Tennessen’s report started off with Culver’s being approved to be built near Sam’s Club. “That’s really exciting for us; it’s a really good looking restaurant,” he said. “We have that little niche (of space) and that’s some really good retail.” Also in his report was the approval of the request for the $19,500 budget for Kohl’s to be the Aquatic Center’s concessions provider. Police Blotter: Shoplifters Hit Kohl's Again

The following is reported crime in the Sunset Hills-Crestwood area through Saturday, May 5.

The only reported crime of note in Crestwood this week was another shoplifting at Kohl's on Watson. Over in Sunset Hills, police arrested three fugitives on April 19—two in the 3900 block of South Lindbergh Boulevard, and one during a traffic stop in the 12000 block of Eddie & Park Road. On April 20, a man was arrested who was wanted on warrants at Interstate 44 and South Lindbergh Boulevard. A residence was broken into on April 22 in the 3900 block of Grandview Hills Court. An assault was reported in the 12900 block of Sunset Bluff on April 22. A theft was reported on April 24 at a business in Sunset Hills Plaza, and police arrested a fugitive while responding to a call about a sick person in the morning in the 10500 block of Watson Road…
