Filing for the April 2 election is open until Jan. 15.
The pool of candidates is starting empty for next year's Board of Aldermen election in Crestwood. City clerk Tina Flowers said no one had registered on the first day of filing on Tuesday. The terms of Crestwood aldermen Mimi Duncan (Ward I), Bob Deutschmann (Ward II), Jerry Miguel (Ward III), and John Foote (Ward IV) are expiring. Candidates wishing to file for their wards must obtain signatures from 20 registered voters. The filing period will stay open until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15. While no one in Crestwood has thrown their hat in for next year's aldermen race yet, five Sunset Hills residents registered with city hall by the end of the first filing day on Tuesday. Candidates as of 5 p.m. on Dec. 11: Former alderman Frank Hardy is challenging incumbent Dee Baebler in Ward I; Hardy was defeated by Richard Gau during his re-election run last year. Aldermen Scott Haggerty (Ward II), Jan Hoffmann (Ward III), and Patricia Fribis (Ward IV) have also registered in hopes of retaining their seats for another term.
