South Tech Student Named National Merit Finalist

Anjuli Farha attends South Tech and Affton high schools, studying court reporting and broadcast captioning.

Senior Anjuli (Juli) Farha was recently announced as a National Merit Scholarship finalist, according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch. She attends Affton High School and South County Technical High School, where her concentration is broadcast captioning/court reporting. South Tech Student Named Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber's Student of the Month

Anjuli Farha attends South Tech and Affton high schools, studying court reporting and broadcast captioning.

Senior Anjuli (Juli) Farha was named the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce's Student of the Month for October. She attends Affton High School and South County Technical High School, where her concentration is broadcast captioning/court reporting.  Farha was recently named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, and has a 4.375 GPA. She has acheived the bronze level in the station competition for Technical Math. Farha has received nods from South County Technical School for outstanding academic achievement, and Student of the Week.  Farha took summer classes at St. Louis Community College, and is eligible for an internship this year. 6 Lindbergh High School Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

The students have demonstrated exceptional academic ability and potential for college success.

Six Lindbergh High School seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program. Vidhan Srivastava, RJ Mohr, Tiffany Lee, Ananya Benegal, Becky Bavlsik and Allison Mather are six of approximately 16,000 semifinalists named nationwide. These academically talented seniors have the opportunity to continue in the competition for 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million, which will be awarded next spring. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.   Related articles:

Nine Lindbergh HS National Merit Finalists Named

The Lindbergh finalists will be considered for a $2,500 prize, or two other types of awards.

Lindbergh High School principal Dr. Ron Helms was notified this week that nine of his students have been recognized as National Merit Finalists. They are: "It is truly a remarkable accomplishment for these students and our school," Helms said on the Lindbergh High School Facebook page. He said Lindbergh is used to having large numbers of National Merit scholars, but Carrie Bennett, a counselor for the 2012 class, said she and her colleagues have never had this many Finalists in any school they've worked in. Nationally, 1.5 million high school students take the PSAT/NMSQT® test, which measures critical reading, mathematics and writing skills.
