A Friendship Village resident reported a theft at their residence on the 12500 block of Village Circle around 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 29. Approximately $102 was taken, according to police reports. It is the second theft at the senior living facility in the past month. A former employee was charged with stealing two rings, valued at $4,500, on Aug. 13. Police said Lynnette Michel, of Bella Villa, pawned one ring and sold the other to a gold dealer to get money to buy heroin, according to a previous Patch report.
Sunset Hills Police said the woman pawned and sold the rings for money to buy heroin.

A former nursing home worker was charged Aug. 13 with stealing rings from residents at Friendship Village of South County nursing home in Sunset Hills. Lynnette Michel, 37, of the first block of Dallas Drive in Bella Villa, faces two counts of felony stealing. Sunset Hills Police said Michel worked as a housekeeper at the nursing home at 12635 Friendship Ridge Lane, and stole two rings in June from patients. One ring was valued at $2,000 and the other was valued at $2,500. Police said Michel pawned one ring and sold the other to a gold dealer to get money to buy heroin. Bond was set at $5,000.
