Interstate 270 Expansion Part of MoDOT's 2013 Road Construction Projects

The projects cost nearly $211 million and will include road and lane closures around the St. Louis area that begin next week.

The Missouri Department of Transportaion has a busy year planned for road construction in the St. Louis area.  Tuesday, MoDOT officials unveiled detailed plans for five major projects around the St. Louis area in 2013 that total nearly $211 million.  "So it's a significant amount of money we're about to spend on roads around the state, around the region," explained Ed Hassinger, MoDOT District Engineer for the St. Louis region. Details for another project along Interstate 70 in St. Peters at Mid Rivers Mall Drive will come later this year. Downtown Eastbound I-64 to Fully Close This Weekend

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports St. Louis work zones for November 8 -14.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes on eastbound Interstate 64 downtown from Jefferson to the Poplar Street Bridge November 8 - 12.   Crews will be working on the section of the double deck just over I-55 and the depressed lanes of I-70 downtown. While crews are working on the roadway above, drivers on I-55 heading to I-70 may be detoured onto Memorial Drive and back to the interstate for safety. The ramps from Forest Park Avenue and Pine Street to eastbound I-64 are closed around the clock through November. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

Year-Long Closure of Westbound I-70 Blanchette Bridge Begins This Weekend

MoDOT Reports on the St. Louis Work Zones for November 1-7.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the westbound section of the Interstate 70 Blanchette Bridge over the Missouri River the weekend of November 2-4. The westbound bridge will remain closed until fall 2013.   The eastbound I-70 bridge will be used to carry three lanes of traffic in each direction. The exit ramps to Fifth Street in St. Charles will remain open. Motorists are advised to use Route 370 and Route 364 as alternate routes during the closure.   All lanes on eastbound I-64 downtown from Jefferson to the Poplar Street Bridge will close November 2-5. Highway 40 Road Work Could Affect St. Louis Cardinals Game Traffic

There are a number of lane and ramp closures taking place downtown this week that St. Louis Cardinals fans should know about before heading to the NLCS playoff games.

UPDATED: The closure of westbound Highway 40 in downtown St. Louis scheduled for Tuesday night is CANCELED and is not rescheduled, MoDOT stated in a news release. The Missouri Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to a number of lane and ramp closures taking place on Highway 40 in downtown St. Louis this week. The closures are on the routes many drivers will use to access downtown St. Louis. MoDOT officials also stated in a news release that traffic will still be able to get into downtown for the upcoming St. Louis Cardinals home games against the San Francisco Giants. MoDOT to Close Various Lanes in Downtown St. Louis This Week

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports the St. Louis work zones for October 11-17.

All lanes on westbound Interstate 64 will be closed from Broadway to 21st Street Thursday and Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., each day. Two eastbound lanes on the Poplar Street Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. One lane of eastbound I-64 remains closed from 20th/Chestnut to 14th Street around the clock until November.   Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

Westbound I-64 Lanes Continue Closed For Weekend Work in Downtown St. Louis

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on St. Louis work zones for Sept. 20-26.

Westbound Interstate 64 in downtown St. Louis will be closed from the Poplar Street bridge to 21st Street starting at 6 p.m. Friday and reopen by 3 a.m. Monday. One eastbound lane on I-64 from 21st Street to the Poplar Street Bridge will be open starting at 6 p.m. Friday.  The Broadway, 10th Street and 14th Street entrance ramps to westbound I-64 will be closed this weekend. All ramps, including 14th street on ramp will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday. Crews are continuing work to remove and replace the driving surface on the westbound double deck structure. The depressed section of I-70 eastbound and westbound will be closed starting at 8 p.m. Friday and reopen by 9 a.m. Saturday.  Traffic will be diverted to Memorial Drive. The reversible lanes …

All Westbound I-64 Lanes in Downtown St. Louis Closed This Weekend

Motorists from Illinois heading to events in downtown St. Louis this weekend may want to allow a little extra time, or use Metro to avoid traffic backups. All lanes on westbound Interstate 64 from the Poplar Street Bridge to 21st Street will close starting at 10 a.m., Friday. All westbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., Monday. One eastbound lane will be open during the weekend work. The Broadway, 10th Street and 14th Street entrance ramps to westbound I-64 will be closed this weekend.
