Lindbergh Students Prepare for Rose Parade

Two band members will travel to California in January.

Lindbergh High School seniors Andrew Bushway and Rachel Pavelka have earned the amazing opportunity to return to the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 1, 2013. Both students have been selected by Music for All to be members of the Bands of America Honor Band. The pre-dawn quiet of a South County morning is broken by the sounds of drums, brass and woodwinds as the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band rehearses for California's Rose Parade on New Year's Day. Band members call the early morning workout "zero hour," describing the time they put in before first period of the regular school day. In a little more than three weeks, the band is scheduled to play at two high-profile events: the field show for the St. Louis Rams' Dec. 19 football game against Kansas City at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis and the 2011 Rose…
