Holiday Mail for Military, Veterans Made Possible by Red Cross and St. Louis Rams

American Red Cross and St. Louis Rams representatives teamed up to send greetings to active military, their families and veterans in homes and hospitals. Rams defensive end Chris Long volunteered to be Holiday Mail for Heroes honorary chair.

With help from supporters, volunteers and sponsors, the American Red Cross delivers holiday cards to those serving in active-duty as well as veterans within the United States and around the world. In 2011, more than 1.35 million cards went to troops deployed overseas and stationed locally, stated Red Cross St. Louis communications specialist Denise Nazzaro. This year, partnering with the St. Louis Rams, the St. Louis Red Cross Area Chapter hopes to collect 25,000 signed cards, she said.   Through Nov. 30, people can drop off signed cards at most local Hardees restaurants, BP stations and any Red Cross office. Yes or No: $700M on St. Louis Rams' Dome Upgrades?

The St. Louis Rams have outlined a renovation plan for the Edward Jones Dome that is estimated to cost $700 million.

The Rams want us to buy them a new house. Just fixing up its current home—the Edward Jones Dome—won't do. Instead, the St. Louis football franchise expects an extreme makeover, to the tune of $700 million, as it is estimated by a company hired by the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission (CVC) to analyze the team's counter proposal to a the CVC's own plan to upgrade the Edward Jones Dome with a $124 million facelift. If someone doesn't cough up the $700 mil to redo the Dome, it is feared the team will take its football and go home to Los Angeles, where it came from before it was the St. Louis franchise. All of this wrangling was set in motion in 1995 when the team negotiated a 30-year lease with the CVC. It was stipulated that the …

Fans Flock to Rams Park For Opening of Training Camp

The NFL is back, and more than 800 fans take in the first St. Louis Rams practice of summer training camp at the Russell Athletic Training Center.

EARTH CITY—The rain last Saturday could not dampen the spirits out at Rams Park. Football was back and more than 800 fans took in the first practice of training camp at the Russell Athletic Training Center. Following a four-month lockout that canceled all of the team’s organized activities and minicamps, coach Steve Spagnuolo said he “felt whole again” with players on the field. “Finally back out here working with the players, and really in this business there is nothing better than coaches and players being out on the field doing football,” Spagnuolo said, “so we’re excited about that.” Also eager to see Rams players were Lindbergh High School sophomores Nick Harris and Jamie Barnidge, who both said they had to see the players on the …
