Woman Who Killed Grandmother Might Face Upgraded Charges

The case is now set for the Grand Jury at which time the additional information will be presented and upgraded charges will be considered.

St. Louis County Police have requested upgraded charges against Rachel Armstrong after her grandmother died following Armstrong's attack. Armstrong, 37, of the 10000 block of Golf Crest in South County, was previously charged with first-degree elder abuse after throwing down her grandmother and stomping on her, breaking both her arms and eight ribs on Nov. 12. Armstrong told police she believed her grandmother was a demon and confessed to the attack. 92-year-old Woman Beaten by Granddaughter Dies In Hospital

The 37-year-old granddaughter told police she thought her grandmother was a demon.

A 92-year-old woman, who was allegedly stomped by her granddaughter Rachel Armstrong in November, died from her injuries on Monday at an area hospital, according to a report from KSDK. Armstrong, of the 10000 block of Golf Crest in South County's Sappington area, is accused of throwing down her elderly grandmother and stomping on her, breaking both her arms and eight ribs on Nov. 12. Armstrong confessed to the attack and told police she believed her grandmother was a demon, according to a report from KMOV. Prosecutors had originally charged her with first-degree elder abuse. I'm sure you're feeling bad, Kathy, but sometimes we can't prevent these awful things from happening except in hindsight. I wish the Patch would provide us with more of the backstory since there seems to be one. Updated: South County Woman Attacks Grandmother She Thought Was a Demon

The 92-year-old woman suffered two broken arms and eight broken ribs, according to a St. Louis County Police report.

A South St. Louis County woman is accused of throwing down her 92-year-old grandmother and stomping on her, breaking both her arms and eight ribs Nov. 12. Rachel Armstrong, 37, of the 10000 block of Golf Crest in South County's Sappington area, was charged Thursday with first-degree elder abuse. St. Louis County Police said Armstrong admitted to throwing down her grandmother and stomping on the woman Nov. 12, also in the 10000 block of Golf Crest. Armstrong told police she believed her grandmother was a demon, according to a report from KMOV. She has lived with her grandma since HS. The girl has no $$. So unless she gets a great public defender, she'll be behind bars for a very long time.   more ›
