The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on its St. Louis work zones for Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes and ramps of Interstate 64 in both directions downtown between Hampton Avenue and Forest Park Parkway at 8 p.m. Friday. Motorists attending this weekend’s downtown festivities are urged to use I-44, I-70 or I-55. While the interstate is closed, crews will remove the Taylor and Newstead bridges over I-64. The ramps from McCausland/Skinker, Hampton Avenue and Kingshighway Boulevard to eastbound I-64 will be closed during this time. In addition, the ramps from Pine Street, Jefferson Avenue, Market Avenue and Grant Road to westbound I-64 will be closed during this time. I-64 westbound lane closures downtown Missouri Department of Transportation crews continue to have one lane closed around the clock downtown on westbound Interstate 64 from Broadway to 21st Street with a second lane closed weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following morning. On Friday, crews will keep the second lane on westbound I-64 closed from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday. In addition, two lanes on eastbound I-64 between Broadway and 21st Street will be closed from midnight until noon Saturday August 18. These lane closures are to continue removal and replacement of the driving surface on the double deck structure. MoDOT reports the St. Louis Regional Work Zones for August 9-15.
Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close all lanes and ramps on westbound Interstate 64 downtown between the I-44/I-55 ramp on the Poplar Street Bridge and 21st Street on the double deck structure this weekend, starting at 10 a.m. Friday to continue work to remove and replace the driving surface. Up to two eastbound lanes will be closed for safety during this work. All westbound lanes, except for the right lane, will be open by 5:30 a.m. Monday, August 12. Lane shifts and lane closures continue on westbound and eastbound I-44 in between Lewis Road and Antire Road as part of a pavement reconstruction project. The changes on I-44 will remain until fall 2012. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

MoDOT closes all westbound I-64 lanes in downtown this weekend The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all lanes on westbound Interstate 64 between Broadway and 21st Street this weekend. MoDOT crews will have westbound Interstate 64 closed for portions of this weekend to continue work around the double deck structure downtown. The work should not significantly impact runners and walkers heading to the Race for the Cure downtown. Crews will close all lanes of westbound I-64 from Broadway to 21st Street starting Friday at 10 a.m. They will reopen one lane between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday to allow Race for the Cure participants to get downtown. The Missouri Department of Transportation has more than 100 construction and maintenance work zones planned in the metropolitan area during the next week. MoDOT asks drivers to slow down and be aware in work zones. From downtown St. Louis to Franklin County, MoDOT crews and contractors are taking advantage of the good weather to make progress on major construction projects. This includes such as widening Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44, and the I-44 pavement reconstruction between Lewis Road and Route 141. Westbound I-64 closed downtown Friday night The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all westbound Interstate 64 lanes from the Poplar Street Bridge to Jefferson at 8:30 p.m., Friday after the Cardinals game begins. The 10th Street and 14th Street ramps to westbound I-64 will remain open. Motorists should use I-44 and Jefferson as a detour. A few permanent work zones will still see activity.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will restrict its construction work zones Friday at 12 p.m. through Monday for Memorial Day. Permanent work zones, such as the eastbound lane of Interstate 70, between St. Louis Avenue and Broadway, will remain in place. Crews will resume scheduled work zones on Tuesday morning. Starting after evening rush on Tuesday, May 29, crews will have one lane of eastbound Interstate 44 at Antire Road closed around the clock. Lanes narrowing on I-270 Missouri Department of Transportation crews have begun narrowing lanes on northbound and southbound Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44. Over the next week, motorists will see various night lane closures in this area for asphalt paving operations. The work is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays and is part of a two-year widening project on I-270.
