Jefferson County Man Indicted for Stealing Father's Pickup Truck; Friend Also Indicted for Assault

Police said the owner tracked the truck to a Crestwood retail parking lot and confronted the men, who drove off as he was hanging onto the truck's door handle. The father suffered a broken leg.

A Jefferson County man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Dec. 5 for stealing his father’s pickup truck, while his friend was indicted for stealing the truck and second-degree assault. St. Louis County prosecutors said the two men, Nicholas Doane, 19, of the first block of Wampler in Jefferson County near Arnold, and Anthony Passiglia, Anthony Passiglia, 28, of Arnold, stole Doane’s father’s truck on Oct. 5. Doane’s father used a cell phone app to track the truck to a Kohl’s department store parking lot in Crestwood, where he confronted the two men and demanded his truck back. Seems they need to have a large sign placed there advising commuters they may need a ride home upon return from their commute. Blotter: Vehicle Break-Ins at Lindbergh Boulevard and Watson Road Businesses

Thieves are punching car windows and locks to gain access, according to Sunset Hills Police. The department advises residents not to leave personal items in plain view.

Thieves searching for personal items in cars are no longer hindered by locked doors, according to recent Sunset Hills police reports. Several break-ins reported to vehicles in the Sunset Hills area throughout August and September were often the product of unlocked doors. Now thieves are targeting items of value left out in the open whether or not the car is locked. Sunset Hills Police said assailants are gaining access to cars by breaking windows or punching door locks. The following thefts were reported in the past few weeks: Two vehicles were also reported stolen in the past few weeks, including a Jeep from the East Commuter lot on Oct. 24 and a Ford F-250 from Gravois Road on Nov. 1.  Sunset Hills police officers recovered a stolen …

American Idol's Bo Bice Concert Sunday at Helen Fitzgerald's for Charity

Bo Bice lends a hand for Sunset Hills tornado recovery fundraising, beginning at 4 p.m.

Bo Bice of American Idol fame (runner up to Carrie Underwood) is set to perform Sunday at Helen Fitzgerald's in Sunset Hills, beginning at 4 p.m. His concert is part of a fundraising effort for the city's Tornado Assistance Fund started by Sunset Hills's city government. Nearly $225,000 has been raised and more than half already distributed to about a dozen or more families who lost homes and possessions in a New Year's Eve tornado that rocked the area. Bice was at the top end of the age limit for competing in American Idol when he won his way through the 2005 season to finish runner up to Carrie Underwood. The Southern rocker's 2005 version of Inside Your Heaven turned Gold, replacing Underwood's version on the charts, according to …
