Four local authors, including two from Sunset Hills, will be signing books at the Gravois Bluffs Walgreens in Fenton this Saturday.

A South County author has established a literary partnership with a nearby Walgreen's, and the store manager said their effort could set a regional trend.  Sandie Grassino, who recently published a book on Sunset Hills history, was introduced to Fenton Walgreens manager Lou Wachowe through a distributor at Arcadia Publishing. The store hosted a book signing for Grassino in August, which Wachowe said was a great success for both parties--so much so that he decided to organize a multi-author event.  These are the first events of this type at a St. Louis Walgreens, Wachowe said. Walgreens Offering Free Blood Pressure Testing in Honor of American Heart Month

There are two locations, one with a Take Care Clinic, in your Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch.

Not only is February the month of love, it also is the time to bring awareness to the heart itself. February is American Heart Month, and throughout the entire month, all Walgreens are offering free blood pressure testings.  According to the American Heart Association, more than 76 million adults in the United State have high blood pressure. As part of a new health initiative, Way to Well Commitment, Walgreens will donate $1 for each test conducted to the American Heart Association. The commitment is a four-year, $100 million initiative toward disease prevention and improving education in leading diseases such as cancer, diabetes and of course, heart disease.  Those getting free blood pressure testing are encouraged to share results with …
