Crestwood Commons, which houses Gordman's and Best Buy, has another 50,000 sq. ft. still available for lease.
A strip mall space across from Crestwood Court is officially back on the leasing market. Crestwood Commons, 9440-9490 Watson Rd., has 58,000 sq. ft. available on the west side of the building, which is adjacent to Schnucks. The space can be divided into 15-25,000 sq. ft. portions, said Jeff Eisenberg, who is marketing the space. Best Buy and Gordmans are the current anchoring tenants. Eisenberg said the space has been vacant for some time because a couple interested tenants fell through. However, he believes its proximity to the grocery store has made it an attractive amenity to businesses looking for repeat traffic. He's also been reluctant to bring in a temporary tenant, like a holiday store, in hopes that someone with more permanent …

Puricelli's Deli and St. Louis Deli & Grill are both popping up on Watson Road. Puricelli's, across from Crestwood Court, hopes to open its doors next week.
Word from workers performing some last-minute renovations at Puricelli's Deli is that the former Imo's Pizza spot should be open before Thanksgiving. Followers of Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch's Facebook page likely saw my post last week about another deli coming to Crestwood. St. Louis Deli & Grill has taken over the Taco Bell building near the Elm Street and Watson Road intersection, and is currently performing interior work. No word yet on when it will open. Aldermen voted to reconsider the Crestwood Court owner's proposal, which was turned down earlier this month. They hope to initiate a 'work session' with Centrum and other interested parties.
Crestwood aldermen said they've heard the gamut of resident responses to their recent rejection of Centrum Properties as the developer of a new concept on the Crestwood Court property, from approval to irritation. Ward IV Alderman Daniel Tennessen, who voted against the resolution earlier this month, said he wanted to invite the company to continue their conversations with aldermen. Tennessen proposed to hold a work session to let aldermen discuss changes they'd like to see to the proposal, and for Centrum representatives to explain they are and aren't willing to compromise. Aldermen unanimously voted to reconsider Centrum's proposal at a later date, and to coordinate a work session in the meantime. The public will be able to attend any …

The majority of aldermen voted against the entertainment-focused proposal by Centrum Properties to revive the mall space along Watson Road.
The majority of Crestwood aldermen voted Tuesday night against the latest submission by Crestwood Court's owners, putting a temporary halt to action on the mall's redevelopment. Last week residents had the chance to hear a more detailed presentation for the proposed District at Crestwood, an entertainment-focused vision for the 48-acre space on Watson Road. Centrum was the only firm to submit a redevelopment proposal to the city. The two-phase project would cost approximately $102 million, Centrum officials said, with almost $27 million in economic assistance. A motion to continue the redevelopment process with Centrum's pitch was supported by aldermen Mimi Duncan, John Foote, and Darryl Wallach, but knocked down by the majority. However…

Developers for the proposed District at Crestwood said they’ve reached out to specialty chains like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods to counteract a recent loss in South County grocery retailers. Do you think it’s the right spot for a new store?
Despite a “not now” response from Trader Joe’s, one Affton woman is still heading a community effort to bring the specialty grocer to South St. Louis County. “I am sort of a the-cup-is-half-full kind of person, and I see this letter as a positive response, a sort of an introduction that we are coming,” Carol Boss writes in an open letter to residents, urging them to sign her petition. She’s gathered more than 1,800 signatures so far and plans to send the petition to the company’s headquarters next week. But she’s not the only one gunning for them. The developers attempting to revive Crestwood Court said earlier this week they’ve reached out to companies like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods to anchor the retail spaces at the proposed District …
