The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club is offering the community a great way to reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating your broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive.

The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club is offering the community a great way to reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating your broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive! Community members, Lindbergh families and employees can drop off unwanted lights in the front commons of Sperreng Middle School between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, between now and Jan. 13, 2013. Please note that the school will be closed for holidays Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 21-Jan. 2. This year, St. Louis Green hopes to divert more than 128,000 pounds of lights from entering our landfills. The Nov. 15 meal will benefit the No Kid Hungry Campaign.
Operation Food Search (OFS) is hosting a collaborative six-course meal that pairs food from talented local chefs with top area microbreweries’ artisan beers at a benefit to help end childhood hunger. Eat out at any participating restaurant, starting today, and 10 percent of the fixed-price, multi-course meal will benefit Operation Food Search. Restaurant week continues until Oct. 21.
