Sperreng Middle School Collecting Holiday Lights for Recycling

The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club is offering the community a great way to reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating your broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive.

‘Tis the Season to Recycle!  The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club is offering the community a great way to reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating your broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive!  Community members, Lindbergh families and employees can drop off unwanted lights in the front commons of Sperreng Middle School between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, between now and Jan. 13, 2013. Please note that the school will be closed for holidays Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 21-Jan. 2. Local Charities Release Holiday Cards for a Cause

Buy your annual holiday cards from a local charity this year.

Every holiday season, families across the country send cards to their loved ones, filling them in on the last year and wishing them a happy new one.  For families planning to buy holiday cards this year, nonprofit organizations around the area are offering unique cards that benefit their missions. That way, each card sends holiday cheer while supporting a worthy cause. Here is our round-up of holiday cards for charity. Operation Food Search hosts ‘A Brewtopian Dinner’

The Nov. 15 meal will benefit the No Kid Hungry Campaign.

Operation Food Search (OFS) is hosting a collaborative six-course meal that pairs food from talented local chefs with top area microbreweries’ artisan beers at a benefit to help end childhood hunger. The OFS inaugural “Brewtopian Dinner” will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday Nov. 15, at City Cottage on Chouteau (formerly King Louie’s and Revival), 3800 Chouteau in Midtown St. Louis. Eat Out This Week, Benefit Operation Food Search

The annual Greater St. Louis Restaurant week is Oct. 12-21.

Want to check out a great St. Louis area restaurant and give back to the community at the same time? If so, Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week is for you. Eat out at any participating restaurant, starting today, and 10 percent of the fixed-price, multi-course meal will benefit Operation Food Search. Restaurant week continues until Oct. 21.
