Crestwood, Sunset Hills Going to the Dogs

The cities have made significant steps to bring in amenities for pet owners, including the approval of a dog day care and boarding facility in Crestwood this week.

A new doggie day care and boarding facility called Love Unleashed is coming to Crestwood. The facility at 9221 Watson Industrial Park will offer both day care and overnight boarding for dogs. An indoor and outdoor dog park can be utilized by residents for a membership fee, owner Weston Ackermann said. Pop-up kennels will be used for overnight accomodations and the outdoor area will be protected by a 6-foot vinyl fence. The facility will be open 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. on weekends. The outdoor dog park will be open 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on weekdays and Saturday, and 12-4 p.m. on Sundays. It's wonderful that these two facilities are coming to the South/South County area! There's a huge market for Dog Day Cares as many St. Louisians are dog lovers who want only the very best for their pets/family members. Dog Day Care Coming to Watson Road

The Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen approved a request for the new dog care center on Tuesday.

A doggie day care will be coming to Watson Road. Tuesday night the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen approved a request from Patches Ellis to operate a dog day camp at 10390 Watson Rd., between the former ColorArt building and Family Pet Hospital. This was not Ellis’s first go-around with the board.  When she first presented the business plan in November Ellis did not receive majority approval from the board--but had earned the attention of neighbors to the south of the property who were concerned about potential noise and smell issues. The city’s planning and zoning commission gave Ellis their recommendation at their Feb. 6 meeting.
